A Renewed Commitment to Ensuring Information Security for the Company and Clients
McLean, VA — May 13, 2016 – Trowbridge & Trowbridge, LLC (Trowbridge), a leading information systems and solutions provider, announced today that it has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its headquarters facility in McLean, Virginia. As the foremost international standard for information security, ISO/IEC 27001 ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s information and assets.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard specifies the requirements for continually improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS), an internal framework for managing the company’s sensitive information. As part of this certification process, Trowbridge focused additional attention on potential risks to organizational success and institutionalized on-going methods for securing the company’s data and assets. To obtain certification, Trowbridge underwent a rigorous external audit of its information security policies, procedures, and tools.
As a prime contractor on federal Government programs, Trowbridge’s customers rely on the company to safeguard information, especially in a climate of increasing cyber security threats. “Our ISO 27001 certification validates our commitment to providing a secure IT environment for our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers,” stated Karen Trowbridge, President and CEO of Trowbridge. “I am proud of the dedication that Trowbridge personnel have shown in making information security an integral part of all of our business processes.”
Trowbridge also conducted training sessions to educate its employees about their roles and responsibilities in information security for the company and clients. Achieving ISO 27001 certification is an external acknowledgement that the company has taken the proper measures to secure its organizational assets. Developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission, the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard recognizes the security of information and assets. National Quality Assurance in conjunction with Radian Compliance conducted the independent audit and issued the certification.
Trowbridge is an award-winning mid-tier contactor that is also certified as an economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business (EDWOSB) under its NIH CIO-SP3 SB, Alliant SB, and GSA Schedule 70 Prime contract vehicles.
